Flowers for Grandma Effie

My Great Grandmother, Effie, was a strong-willed woman, raising her three children from the farm to the city. She passed before I could know her but this is how I think her spirit would reflect today.

The ghostlike images from those early Brownie cameras intrigue me. This is part of a series of pieces I am creating entitled "Then and Now."

Red nasturtiums here symbolize strength, power, and courage, and yellow nasturtiums represent creativity and joy. This is my tribute.
