Mary Ellen Jasper/Sterling and Copper Leaf Pendant

Mary Ellen Jasper, aka Stromatolite, is actually a fossil, the fossil of algae that lived billions of years ago and put the oxygen into Earth’s atmosphere! The reddish brushstroke patterns are actually the colonies of the stromatolites. The iridescent gray patterned spots are Hematite. What history in this gem! I found the stone on the North Shore (it actually is found in very large stones, even boulders, but this was a perfect size and excellent quality for Greg to slice off a piece and cut the cab. See alternate photos for a picture of the original stone, face polished. Purchase will include the stone for display!
Now, for the special setting I have fabricated for it, in fine silver, textured sterling silver, a Copper and sterling Leaf, with a Hematite bead. Pendant is lightly oxidized and hangs from a 1.5mm width round sterling snake chain with a lobster clasp, 18 inches.
A real conversation piece!
