Merrilee Drakulich Contemporary Paintings

Near Montourcy

Work in oil pigment sticks of the landscape near Montourcy in the Cantal of the Auvergne region of south-central France.

I did this work with professional grade oil pigment sticks on 22-inch-high x 30-inch-wide acid-free age-resistant archival heavy paper. The painting is signed in the lower right corner and is dated on the back (1998).

The painting is framed with double raised matting behind anti-reflection glass in a 32.5 inches high x 40 inches wide x 1 inch deep mottled gold-gray with silver lip wood frame, and is signed and dated.

At two different times during the 1990s, I lived in France and painted its landscapes. Since then, I return every few years to absorb the beauty of the land and become inspired to paint more.
