'Sitting Pretty'
The challenging events of 2020 inspired me to create this acrylic painting of days before the pandemic, when a father could walk around unmasked, giving his daughter a free ride.
A few years ago, I saw such a man and child enjoying a cool summer day by the harbor-side. The memory of how happy they appeared to be, is etched in my mind and is the basis for my painting. From my vantage point, the man and child reflected an appreciation for the simple things in life through shared love and peace of mind.
In 2020, the Metropolitan Museum of Art requested my permission to include this artwork on their Instagram web-site.
