Mexican Clock bird

Commissioned Work. A Clock bird in Mexico. Fable has it that the there was a race of animals. The bird fancied itself to be the fastest of flew ahead and fell asleep on the path. The animals ran over him and boke off his tail feathers. Loosing the race the gods punished his arrogance by causing him to be the first animal up to wake all the others. He is named the clock bird because his tail feathers seem to swing back and forth like a pendulum clock. Paper and gel medium on canvas 9" x 13"
