I painted "Rancho Buena Vista I and II" while helping my father-in-law's wife, Raleigh, learn watercolor painting. This was Norman and Raleigh's last of many trips to Rancho Buena Vista, a quaint fishing resort in Baja California on the Sea of Cortez. Norm passed away later that year, so these paintings bring back fond memories of natural beauty, laughter, love—and most of all—Norm's colorful personality.
