“Street Dreams” is the second piece in Scott’s new series Nouveau Orléans: The Wave.
In this painting, Scott depicts a young “Fats” Domino before his rise to Rock & Roll fame. Domino is camouflaged in an array of brightly colored tropical foliage similar to the Hawaiian shirts he was known for wearing. Scott also added Fats’ pink Cadillac that he used to cruise the streets of New Orleans in that he later turned into a couch. As a child, Scott recalls his dad honking the horn and waving at Fats as they passed by him at his home on their way to Mass at a local church.
This painting serves as a tribute to the late 9th ward resident who Scott so admired.
