Near Montourcy

Work in oil pigment sticks of the landscape near Montourcy in the Cantal of the Auvergne region of south-central France.

I did this work with professional grade oil pigment sticks on 22-inch-high x 30-inch-wide acid-free age-resistant archival heavy paper. The painting is signed in the lower right corner and is dated on the back (1998).

The painting is framed with double raised matting behind anti-reflection glass in a 32.5 inches high x 40 inches wide x 1-inch-deep mottled gold-gray with silver lip wood frame and is signed and dated.

At two different times during the 1990s, I lived in France and painted its landscapes. Since then, I return every few years to absorb the beauty of the land and become inspired to paint more. (Tap or click on arrow on right side of photo for alternate unframed view.)
