Poppy Pods

It took a lot of layers and experimentation for this painting to reveal itself. I do like the juxtaposition of incipient bloom against the darker clouds to the left giving way to the lighter clouds. Out of pain comes new growth: kind of like birth itself—and/or the creative process—if that's not too hackneyed a concept.
