2019-04-20: Budding Siberian elm in early spring - Santa Fe

Siberian elms start budding very early at the end of the winter to be the first ones to drop millions of seeds to the dismay of gardeners. These trees, ubiquitous in Santa Fe, are considered as pests because of their invasive nature and sensitivity to diseases. They are the first trees to blossom, before the leaves emerge, and make millions of seeds which overrun streets and gardens.
