Before and After

Some say our souls emerge from a celestial soup, a place where humans-in-potential wait for their turn at the game of earthly life.

I’m not sure I believe that.

I don’t know how it works. But solid scientific studies of children’s reincarnation stories sure point to that. Or some sort of overlap from one lifetime to another.

When I’m in a mood to contemplate all the possibilities, this piece helps me focus on the origin of consciousness. I don’t know how it works, but I want to find out. What about you?

Oil and cold wax on paper, unframed.
