California Coast

There are places in Time etched in my memory, places that return me to a specific emotional state.

And that’s a superpower. Having a tool that restores a specific emotional state is a gift in times of distress.

This is another painting like that. It brings me back to the first time I saw the California coast from an aerial view. The foamy waves riding the surf, the mist floating above, the smell of salt and kelp in the air.

It’s a feeling of enchantment for me. A sense of home, even though I had just arrived. A Shangri-La, of sorts, at least to my poetic mind. More than that, a feeling of openness and optimism.

And so I guess this painting has a superpower too.

Available as an original work with wrapped canvas edges painted off white, or as a print.
