Q. The icons in this painting paired with the lovely Giovanna Tornabuoni clearly indicate travel through time.
A. Yes, as do many of my artworks. This painting was hanging in a Parallax show in Manhattan and a 10 year old girl came by. She stood in front of the painting and said "I like this because it shows what's old and what's new." I was impressed by her conviction and her tacit approval. I'm sure if I had engaged with her further, this impressive 10 year old would have told me more about combining what is old and what is new.
