The Shapes of Time

Physicists Kip Thorne and Michio Kaku say that time travel is imaginable within recent theories of physics. Because Space bends, Time bends.

A river might cross from New York to Pennsylvania, then twist back over an invisible line, back to New York. If Time bends like a river, and we float within it, we too can float forward and backward over invisible boundaries of Time.

Timelines with five digits, indicating tens of thousands of years in our future, suggest the enormous potential of these ideas for our future.

Hard to envision? Yes it is. And this piece helps me wrap my mind around an idea with mind-blowing implications for the future.

Oil and cold wax on paper, unframed.
