This pastel painting is my response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the treatment of farm workers. These individuals' labor is vital yet often overlooked. Through this piece, I aim to honor their essential contributions and draw attention to their resilience and humanity. In the painting, the strawberry pickers toil in a field in the Salinas Valley of California. The beauty of the surroundings juxtaposes their difficult work.
