Scattering the Night (diptych)

The title of this diptych artwork was borrowed from F. Scott Fitzgerald who used the term to describe the smile of a female. The painting itself was inspired by the image I encountered each morning during the spring 2020 Covid-19 lock down. Because we were up early to help care for grandsons, I often saw the dawn from my bedroom window. It was the same and different each day: the background in the yard changed from black shapes to hints of green as the sky became a lighter grey with touches of pink and hint of lavender. Gradually the greens in all shades and
shapes appeared.
