• They come in nearly every hue imaginable—from creamy whites and pale pinks to almost black—and in sizes ranging from petite 2-inch pompoms to giant 15-inch “dinner plates.”
• Most varieties grow between 4 to 5 feet tall, with countless petal shapes and configurations.
I only recently became truly enamored with Dahlias—the depth of their petals, the variety of colors and sizes, and the endless shapes continue to draw me in. My fascination has led me to farmers’ markets, florists, and even Dahlia gardens to find these incredible flowers.
This piece was inspired by a photograph I took at Cher’s Garden in Madison, Wisconsin.
