2018-10-30: The Santa Fe River disappearing under a dome of fall colors

2018 was an exceptional year for fall colors in Santa Fe. When the Santa Fe River reaches Santa Fe most of its water has been diverted to deliver reliable supply to the city and other water rights owners, as well as to the river natural environment. Priorities make it that the river is often dry. When weather conditions are favorable beautiful colors adorn the Santa Fe River with leaves creating the illusion that water is flowing orange while disappearing in a golden forest.
